     The Mt. Pulaski School District is a Unit District covering an area of 192 square miles, with land areas in 5 counties (Logan, Sangamon, DeWitt, Menard, Macon).  The schools are housed in two buildings.  Mt. Pulaski High School 9-12 in Mt. Pulaski, enrollment of 227 students, and Mt. Pulaski Grade School PreK-8 in Mt. Pulaski, enrollment of 350 students.  Mt. Pulaski is located near the intersection of Highways Illinois Route 121, and Route 54.  Mt. Pulaski is 10 miles south of Lincoln on Route 121 as well as 24 miles northeast of Springfield, and 25 miles northwest of Decatur.  The central location of District #23 within the state allows convenient access to Springfield, Decatur, Peoria, and Bloomington/Normal.  Colleges serving the area include Lincolnland Community College, Lincoln Christian College, Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, Millikin University, University of Illinois Springfield, Lincoln College and Bradley University. 

      There is a balance of students from rural areas as well as those who live in the communities of the district.  The potential for continued growth of the district is high due to the relatively close distance to Lincoln, Springfield, and Decatur.

Student scores on the ISAT (Illinois Student Achievement Test) and the PSAE (Prairie State Achievement Test) have been consistently strong.

Financially the district is solid, achieving the highest profile ranking by the ISBE, on a consistent basis.

       Parental involvement and support of the schools is very high.  Parental involvement is welcomed and expected.  The local parent-teacher organization "P.A.S.E." is very active and supportive in school activities.  Each school building has an athletic booster club which is active in raising money for the school athletic team.
