Danielle Lora of Lincoln, IL, is excited to begin her new adventure as the Mt. Pulaski Grade School Principal for the 2020-2021 school year. She was born and raised in Logan County, attended and graduated from Lincoln Community High School, Millikin University for her undergraduate degree, and immediately began her teaching career in the Dominican Republic. She met her husband, Santiago, and they moved back to Lincoln to settle down, plant roots and begin their family. Danielle and her husband live on a farm on the east side of Lincoln with their two children Paxton, 8 and Camila, 5. During the summer, you will find Danielle and her family traveling to various fairs and pig shows throughout central Illinois. Her family also enjoys traveling back to the Dominican Republic as often as they can.

Throughout her teaching career, Danielle has taught various grade levels and subjects at Jefferson Middle School in Springfield, Cantrall Intermediate in Cantrall, and Lincoln Junior High School in Lincoln. She has been teaching for the past fourteen years with her most recent position at Lincoln Elementary School District #27 as the STEAM Coach/Library Media Specialist. She has worked on implementing STEAM into three elementary buildings as well as planning the curriculum used within the STEAM labs. Danielle has also spent many years coaching volleyball during her various teaching positions, as well as running a local club volleyball team. Coaching volleyball has been a large part of her life and she has enjoyed watching players grow and develop throughout the years.

Danielle has demonstrated leadership abilities by working with students of various age groups, as well as teachers at varying levels. She has created a positive learning environment for her students over the last fourteen years. Due to these experiences, she has developed excellent communication, people management skills, organization, and critical thinking skills.

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Lora as our incoming Principal at MPGS!
