Brian Ellis portrays Austin Gollaher

The MPGS students enjoyed an assembly sponsored by the Mt. Pulaski Courthouse Foundation. Barbara Stroud-Borth, site manager of the Mt. Pulaski Courthouse, introduced the 4th grade classes from MPGS and Zion. These students read the Gettysburg Address to everyone in attendance.

Mr. Ellis plays his jaw harp.

Then, Brian "Fox" Ellis began to play his jaw harp as the 4th grade students took their seats. Mr. Ellis, an avid storyteller, author, and educator, introduced himself as Austin Gollaher, Abraham Lincoln's childhood friend. He spent the hour telling true, tall tales from Abraham Lincoln's life. If you are interested in learning more about Abraham Lincoln, you can visit the website of Mr. Ellis

The MPGS faculty, staff, and students would like to thank the Mt. Pulaski Courthouse Foundation for providing this educational opportunity. Now that our students can "tell a tale or two" about President Lincoln, encourage them to share a tale or two with you!
