Class of 2020

Good Afternoon Hilltoppers!

I am sure many of you have already discovered that Illinois State Board of Education Superintendent Dr. Carmen Ayala announced “We need to remember that no matter how devastating it feels to miss these sacred rites of spring, the health and safety of our students, families, and communities must remain our top priority. Therefore, in-person graduation ceremonies of any kind are not allowed at this time.”  This news comes to Mt. Pulaski after students, staff and community members spent a great deal of time developing an intricate plan for the graduation of the Senior Class of 2020.

The Mt. Pulaski administration and Board of Education, with respect to the Illinois State Board of Education and Dr. Ayala, will review this announcement, consider district options and then communicate plans going forward to the public.  The district will announce plans moving forward as soon as they become available.

I feel like a broken record as I once again thank you for your patience, trust and flexibility in the face of these ever changing circumstances.

Respectfully,

Fred Lamkey, Mt. Pulaski Superintendent of Schools
