Hello!
These “Remote Learning Days” are designed to keep kids engaged, keep them learning, keep them thinking, and give them some sense of normalcy in this bizarre time. These activities are NOT mandatory; no zeroes will be given, nothing will be marked “missing,” nothing will be “late,” etc. However, any work students do complete (that is deemed satisfactory by the teacher) will go into TeacherEase as A+s, which will then average with 3rd quarter to increase their semester grades. These activities should not cause students or families any stress. We want you to learn and we want you to think, but first and foremost we want you to be physically and mentally healthy.
We would like to take a minute to give you an update on what the expectations are and where we are going educationally from here on out. At this point:
• Tuesday (3/31) and Wednesday (4/1) will be classified as “Remote Learning Planning Days.” No activities will be given to students on those days.
• Each class will assign 3 tasks/activities per week. Please turn in tasks as they are completed. These tasks can be completed at any time. Each task should take approximately 20 minutes to complete (for a total of 60 minutes/class per week).
• If paper copies are needed, please contact your child’s teachers and the High School Office.
• For students that would like a schedule, we are suggesting an A/B block schedule:
A Day (4/2, 4/6, 4/8, 4/14, …)
B Day (4/3, 4/7, 4/9, 4/15, …)
1st Hour 2nd Hour 3rd Hour 4th Hour
5th Hour 6th Hour 7th Hour 8th Hour
• Students are not required to adhere to this schedule; it is just a suggestion to help those who need structure.
• The High School Office is open from 8:00am-12:00pm each weekday. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to call the office at that time.
• Each Sunday evening you should expect a document in your email detailing the activities for the week.
• Semester grades will be calculated as follows:
• If we return 40% for 3rd quarter, 40% for 4th quarter, and 20% for their final exam
• If we do not return 50% for 3rd quarter and 50% for 4th quarter
• If no work is completed for 4th quarter and we do not return to school, then the student’s 3rd quarter grade will be their 2nd Semester grade.
