MPHS is hosting our own summer school program for credit recovery. Summer school is the only option offered by MPHS for credit recovery.
If a student fails at least one class required by MPHS and the state of Illinois for graduation, that student may attend summer school to make up the credit instead of having to re-take it next school year.
This year, summer school will run for 6 weeks from June 14 - July 22 (Monday through Thursday) from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Once a student finishes their required work, they are no longer allowed to attend summer school sessions. For example, if it takes a student 2 weeks to finish the work, then they are done after 2 weeks.
There is a small fee associated with Summer School:
If the student does not qualify for free/reduced lunch: $50 for a full year class, $25 for a semester class
If the student qualifies for reduced lunch: $10 for a full year class, $5 for a semester class
Free for any student who qualifies for free lunch
Students who plan to attend summer school will need to be registered and pay by June 7, 2021.
