Dear Parents/Guardian:

As you may have heard as of March 31, schools in Illinois went from “Act of God” days to “Remote Learning Days”.  On Monday and Tuesday our District and Building Leadership teams met to develop a Remote Learning Plan. You may not notice much of a difference, but there are a few changes that are listed below.

  • Junior High students will be using an A/B schedule. The A schedule will run on Monday and Wednesday of each week and will be periods 1 - 4 of the student’s schedule. The B schedule will run on Tuesday and Thursday and will be periods 5 - 8.
  • Students are not required to follow this schedule. It is just a guideline for those who may need it.
  • Fridays will be used for Teacher, Parent, and possibly Student communication. Teachers are also available daily for emails and will attempt to respond within 24 hours.
  • If paper copies of the assignments are needed, please contact your child’s teacher(s). They in turn will send them to the office where you can pick them up. Office hours are 8:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
  • Junior High assignments should be returned to the teachers by Friday of each week.
  • Pre K - 5th grade parents will complete a checklist that should be returned by Friday also. These should be returned digitally, if possible.
  • Assignments will be entered into Teacher Ease as “Complete/Incomplete”. Incomplete simply means that the assignment has not been completed yet. An incomplete assignment does not affect the student’s grade at all.

If you are in need of internet access in your home, visit www.isbe.net/keeplearning.

We will make it through these trying times. It’s tough on us adults, but I’m sure our young ones are confused and maybe a little scared. I appreciate all you are doing for them.
