Doug Martin
As our longest serving board member, Doug Martin has served on the board for 16 and has worked with 3 superintendents! Doug graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and is a farmer. He lists hunting & sports among his interests. He considers his parents, grandparents and his teachers, specifically Mr. Ralph Allen and Mr. Bill Rucks, as role models.
When asked to highlight some of his favorite accomplishments as a board member, Doug was quick to point out that the successes were born of being “part of some really great boards that were able to see the district through tough financial times and recover successfully.” The replacement of the 1912 high school as well as guiding the district through administrative changes & continuing to be a part of the process that produces excellent students were among his highlights.
