Eric Cooper, son of Scott and Tanya Cooper, has been named December-Senior-of-the-Month at Mount Pulaski High School.

 

During his time at MPHS, Eric has stayed actively involved in sports and activities. He has played Basketball and Baseball for 4 years, and has also been a member of Spanish Club and FFA for 4 years, currently serving as President for FFA. He participated in Academic Challenge for 3 years, NHS for 2 years, and is currently serving as President, and Cross County and Student-Athlete Advisory Council for 1 year.

 

Eric has been on Straight A Honor Roll every semester of high school. He was also a Star Chapter Degree recipient in FFA and is working towards his state FFA Degree. He has received several accolades in Basketball and Baseball. He made the Heritage/Bismark Basketball All-Tournament Team,  Bill Rucks Memorial Basketball All-Tournament Team, Basketball Second-Team Tomahawk All-Conference, Basketball First-Team Tomahawk All-Conference, Baseball Second-Team Tomahawk All-Conference, and State Journal Register’s All-Area Baseball Team for Small Schools. He was also the December Student Athlete of the month his Junior year.

 

Outside of school, Eric is a member of the Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church. He has also volunteered for various organizations, such as Memorial Health Championship, Zion Lutheran Church, Arsenal Baseball, FFA, NHS, Christmas on Vinegar Hill, and Basketball camps. During his Junior year he refereed youth basketball and plans to do it again his senior year.

 

His future plans are to attend college and major in some field of Agriculture while continuing my athletic career.

 

The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by the Mount Pulaski Education Association and Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance Agency, Inc. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored by INB.
