Elayna Marten, daughter of Daniel Marten and Nikki Marten, has been named February-Senior-of-the-Month at Mount Pulaski High School.
During her time at MPHS, Elayna has been a member of several sports and organizations. For 4 years, she played Volleyball and Basketball and was a member of FFA, Student Council, Yearbook, and Spanish Club. She also has participated in NHS, Track, Drama Club, SAAC for 2 years, and Club America for 1 year.
Elayna was named Student Athlete of the Month during her Junior and senior years. She has also been on Straight A’s/High Honors every semester of high school.
Outside of school, Elayna has helped with Freshmen Bootcamp, Trick or Treating for canned goods, Fall Fest, Christmas on Vinegar Hill, and Trunk or Treat. She has worked as a lifeguard at the Mt. Pulaski Pool and babysits local families.
She plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College to get a degree in nursing, before moving on to a 4 year university.
The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by the Mount Pulaski Education Association and Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance Agency, Inc. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored by INB.
