Clay Aylesworth, son of Rick and Debby Aylesworth of Mt Pulaski, has been named September-Senior-of-the-month at Mount Pulaski High School. He was selected for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

            During his time at MPHS, Clay has been actively involved in sports and organizations. For 4 years he has participated in FFA, currently serving as President, Basketball, and Baseball. He has participated in Science Olympiad and Academic Challenge for 3 years, NHS for 2 years, and Student Council for 1 year.

            Outside of school Clay has been a member of 4-H for 9 years and Zion Lutheran Youth Group for 6 years. He also has volunteered at Christmas on Vinegar Hill by serving food at Zion Lutheran and helping the vendors unload merchandise. He has also helped decorate the courthouse and helped at Fall Festival. He has worked for Gro Alliance and as a farmhand at Awe Acres.

            Clay has been on Honor Roll for the past 3 years. He also earned the Biology Student of the Year Award. He has also earned the following awards: Chapter Degree Award, Livestock Judging Award, Horse Judging Award, Extemporaneous Public Speaking Award, Meats Evaluation Award, and the Food Service Evaluation Award.

            Clay plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College and then transfer to a Land Grant University to further his education in Agriculture, with a focus in the Agronomy field.

The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Conaway Handyman Service and Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance Agency, Inc. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored by INB.
