It was a great day for the Topper golfers as they tied for 1st place with a team score of 195 at Eagle Creek GC in Shelbyville. Aaron Kuznik led the Hilltoppers with a score of 44 finishing 2nd overall and just two shots behind the medalist. Franklin Wade also finished in the 40’s with a score of 48 for 5th place on the narrow tree-lined course. Rounding out the team score and also finishing in the top 10 were Carter Clark 50/7th and Clay Leonard 53/10th. Deegan Tschantz, Kai Selinger, and Tyler Lowe also represented the Toppers in the match. Great job guys!! The team will be back in action Thursday with a newly scheduled 4:00 match at the Lincoln Elk’s. Good luck, Topper golfers!

The Toppers Golf Team had a busy first week starting with a 9-hole match at The Rail GC on Monday. Aaron Kuznik led the Toppers with a score of 45.
Five players then competed in the 18-hole Lincoln Scramble on Thursday. The team shot an even-par 71 highlighted by three birdies on the day. The first birdie came on the par 5 10th-hole using Deegan Tschantz drive, Carter Clark's 2nd shot, Aaron K's shot to the green, and Franklin Wade sinking the 15' putt. The second birdie was all Franklin W on the par 3 13th-hole as he stuck his 145-yard shot 18 inches from the hole and sank the putt. The third birdie came on the par 3 15-hole with Aaron K hitting a great shot to 15' and Clay Leonard rolling in the putt.
On Friday, the Toppers competed in the 18-hole Meridian Invitational with Carter Clark leading the way with a personal best score of 89. Franklin, Aaron, and Clay all had scores in the 90's.
The Toppers finished the week with another 18-hole tournament at Greenview with Franklin and Aaron both shooting in the 80's for the first time this season with 87 and 88, respectively.
Kai Selinger and Tyler Lowe played in their first matches as MP Toppers!
The team will be back in action September 3rd at Shelbyville.
