It has taken some doing and creative movement with the COVID restrictions, but we are finally cooking in Nutrition class! Sadly, the students have to wait until they get home to eat anything. The word coming back to me is that everything is delicious!

Today, this student was able to finish up his project from last spring after our semester was cut short. I’m so glad we’ve been able to get back in the shop to get it done. Nice work!

I’ve been very impressed with the Metals & Welding class this semester. Not only have they shown a great amount of skill, but also an eagerness to improve each day we’ve been to able to work in the shop.

Mark your calendar for this year's Halloween Movie Double Feature!
It will take place Friday 10/30 at 7:00 PM. We're planning to project our movies onto the shed behind the school this year, so dress warmly and bring a lawnchair (and maybe a pile of blankets!). There is no cost for this event.
Student council will be choosing the movies tomorrow, and we will announce them next week.
Since we must limit our event to 50 students, we do ask that you sign up in the office to receive a ticket.

Students, start planning your costumes for this year's costume contest! Categories include scariest, funniest, group, inflatables, character/historical figure, impression, and best overall. Send a photo of you (or you and your group) to me by Tuesday 10/27 since our contest will be virtual this year. Plan on wearing your costume to school on Friday 10/30 whether you enter the contest or not!

Seniors tomorrow is the SAT. You need to be here by 7:45am. Be sure to bring a calculator and eat a good breakfast.

Our last FAFSA Completion Night is tonight. There are seats available still so if you are needing help with your FAFSA, you are encouraged to attend. We can only have 10 people, so please let Miss Hinson know if you want to attend. 6:30pm in Mrs. Myers room.

Yearbook Crew will be getting their Business Ad Assignments today.
They are eager to sell an Ad. We currently have 28 students who are participating with Yearbook Crew this year. I am excited to have such a large group and look forward to helping them achieve their goals.

Seniors and parents-Next Wednesday the 14th is SAT day! We will be testing in the New Gym (Multipurpose Room). Students need to be at school by 7:45 so we can start testing promptly at 8am. Testing will last until 12:15-12:30 and students will be dismissed once the entire testing time is completed. Bring your own calculators. If you have questions, contact Miss Hinson

Last night MPHS FCCLA had our first chapter meeting! This year it was virtual and we joined 170 other members from around the state via Zoom to interact with the State Officers, brainstorm plans for the upcoming year, and compete in a statewide pumpkin decorating contest. There were three categories in the contest; painted, carved, and state officers. MPHS had representation in all three categories. We also have the state winners in carved and state officer. Way to go guys!

Our second FAFSA Completion Night is tonight at 6:30 in Mrs. Myers room. We do have spots available if anyone is needing to attend. Parents and Students-please have your FSA ID made PRIOR to attending tonight. Let Miss Hinson know if you need to attend or if you have any questions!
