Due to the likelihood of inclement weather we have rescheduled GBB, BBB, and Cheer pictures. We will be taking these pictures on Tuesday, February 8th during study hall. Please make sure you have your uniform that day.

All teams and spectators coming to the 8th grade volleyball tournament held at MPHS tomorrow must enter through the west "Gym Entrance" and park in the west parking lots. No other entrances will be unlocked.

Print or pick one up in the office & complete the letter jacket order form attached to this email.
Turn the form in at the high school to a Jostens representative Monday, January 31st or Thursday, February 3rd. Representatives will be at the school at the end of the day on both of these dates. They will have jackets on hand for accurate sizing and to answer any questions you may have.

Here's a great opportunity for current Juniors! The Caterpillar Career Pathways program will be presented to interested students on Thursday, February 3, at 2:15 PM. Flyers and additional information were emailed to all Juniors. Stop by the office if you want a paper copy of the information!
The Youth Leadership Certification will again be offered as a virtual
initiative for our athletes and students. Students need to indicate their interest by completing a Google form. Each student who signs up will be sent a link to Canvas, where the lessons are housed. The student will need to create an account and will have access to the leadership lessons. Each of the 10 lessons that the student partakes in will include a 40 to 60-minute lesson with a quiz at the end. You must achieve a 7 out 10 correct to move onto the next lesson. All lessons are open and available for individuals to explore at their own pace. The only requirement is that lessons be complete prior to April 15th to receive the digital certificate.

If your child is participating in the HS Cheer Clinic tonight, the "GYM ENTRANCE" on the west side will automatically unlock from 4:45 PM until 5:10 PM. That will be the only entrance for the cheer clinic (which is in the new multipurpose gym). Clinic runs from 5 PM until 7 PM tonight.
Tonight's school board meeting will convene its Executive Session at 5pm. The Regular Meeting will begin at 6pm tonight in the MPGS Learning Center. Recognition of Public will take place shortly after 6. Anyone who wishes to address the Board will need to sign in.
Congratulations to the cast of PUFFS! Performances will be May 13th and May 14th. Be sure to come see this awesome cast!

Our students wrote cards to send to Illinois Veteran's for Christmas!
The Homecoming Dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 15, from 7:30 PM until 10:30 PM.
Some Reminders for the Homecoming Dance:
1) Only the SOUTHWEST entrance (by Mr. Waterkotte’s/Mrs. Myers's rooms) will be open/unlocked from 7:30 PM until 9:00 PM. Enter through those doors only! The front doors and gym entrance will be locked.
2) You must arrive before 9:00 PM. No admittance after 9:00 PM. The dance ends at 10:30 PM.
3) The dance is $10 per person.
4) Once you decide to leave, you may NOT re-enter.
5) Only students on the list will be admitted. If you have a non-MPHS guest, I gave you their invitation previously. They do not need the invitation to enter. Their name is on the list with yours at the entrance.
Students failing classes may not attend. I will re-run eligibility. If you had an "F" in a class on Friday, 1/7/22, you will not be eligible to attend. You (and your parents) will be sent an email on Monday if this applies to you. Also, students in quarantine may not attend.
Students should see me tomorrow if they have any questions. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon!

After careful consideration, and collaboration with local officials, the decision has been made to postpone the Homecoming Dance. With many young drivers, safety is a foremost concern.
We will have a Homecoming Dance, it just won't be tonight.
