Mount Pulaski CUSD 23 is pleased to partner with the Logan County Department of Public Health and Who We Play For to offer ECG heart screening for all MPCUSD 23 students ages 10 and up.

This optional ECG screening works to identify heart abnormalities in seemingly healthy kids who could be at risk for sudden cardiac arrest. A simple 5-minute heart screening could help reduce the risk of sudden cardiac arrest by 90%. This screening will be offered at no cost to all MPCUSD 23 students ages 10 and up.

Who We Play For screening will be held at Mount Pulaski schools on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. All registrations will take place via the Who We Play For website.

Registration is now open at: https://www.whoweplayfor.org/heart-screening-registration

Be sure to select the correct attendance center for each child you register. Screenings will occur at the grade school in the morning and at the high school in the afternoon. Only students who are fully registered will be screened.

Each electrocardiogram (ECG) heart screening is interpreted by a pediatric cardiologist or cardiologist volunteering to serve on WWPF's Medical Advisory Team. Results are returned via email up to 7 business days after the screening.

Culinary class has been busy this week learning knife cuts while making mirepoix and learning how to fabricate chickens. Today they used the trim of the chicken and their mirepoix to make homemade chicken stock. We now have a lot of homemade ingredients ready to use for upcoming labs...and quite a few new skills as well.
