Hospitality class is at it again. This unit has been on proteins and fats, specifically plant-forward proteins and complementary proteins as well as low fat options. This week they made chili with amaranth, quinoa salad, black bean fiesta wraps, and hummus as well as full fat banana muffins and apple turnovers vs half fat versions. a lot of practical, hands on learning.

The MPHS Service Committee has set the date for our fifth annual Day of Service. It will be the morning of April 24. We are looking to spread out to some more locations this year. Is there anyone in the Logan County area who could use some student helpers for a few hours on that day? In the past, we have done a food drive, cleaned up ballfields, spruced up landscaping around MP and Elkhart, cleaned up the hospital walking trail in Lincoln, prepped the pool at The Elks, volunteered for the Humane Society, and read to kids. Have a project or service need? Contact mclark@mp23schools.com (Mrs. Clark)

There has been quite a bit happening in the FACS department this week. Nutrition had their second lab in which they made fiesta pinwheels. Adult Living has been discussing proper communication and played some communication games. 8th Grade Exploration learned about FCCLA thanks to a presentation by Adison and has learned the parts of the sewing machine so they can start to sew next week (stay tuned for pictures)
