MPGS PreK/TK Screenings are March 26 (all day) and 27 (am only).
Call the Grade School office at 217-792-7220 to schedule your child's PreK/TK screening for the 26-27 school year!

We have several students who have used their 9 parent call ins for the year. Notices will be coming out letting you know of excessive absences. Here is a review of our policy that can be found in the student handbook.

An excused absence requested by a parent without a medical statement (which all count in the 9 allotted per year for each student) can be defined as, but is not limited to:

Students absent due to a valid cause as per Illinois school code law as requested by parent notification (see above).
Up to 5 mental health days as confirmed by parent notification (noting that a conference with the counselor will occur after the 2nd mental health day is taken to develop a plan of action based on the student’s mental health needs)
Illness confirmed only by a note from a parent/guardian.
Medical appointments or illness verified by a medical note are excused absences and do not count against the 9 allotted absences per school year.

After the 9 allotted days all days will be unexcused unless a doctor's note is provided. Please know how important attendance is!! We miss your child when they are not at school. We do know there is a lot of illness going around. Please end the school year strong!

Our 5th - 8th grade MPGS Track & Field season is quickly approaching! If you haven’t had a chance to sign up, please let Coach Switzer or I know before the end of this week! We will practice from Monday, March 23rd thru Thursday, March 26th from 3:20 - 5:00 each day. Please come prepared to run outside (or inside if it is too cold!). Sweats (pants & hoodies), or long sleeves, running shoes, water bottles, plus hats and gloves might be needed too! If it’s warm (🤞🏻), shorts and t-shirts should work! See you next week! Our Parent Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 25th at 5:00 in the grade school gym. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

PASE Butch’s Pizza pick-up will be WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18th : 3-5pm from the GS cafeteria.
You MUST pick-up your pizza orders that day. PASE will not hold them for you.

Due to the high school girls basketball team playing in the state tournament on Thursday morning at 10am, there will be NO SCHOOL that day. Congrats to the Lady Hilltoppers and best of luck at state.
