7th graders in ELA honed into their problem solving skills today in a "Choose Your Own Path" island expedition! Students worked in groups to justify all their decisions and make the right choices in order to "survive!" They had a blast today, and we will continue our lesson tomorrow in learning about the teenage castaways who survived 15 months on Ata Island in the South Pacific. We are preparing for expository writing in ELA with a focus on problem/solution.

In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our two staff members we would like to highlight today are Mrs. Ford who teaches 3A and Mrs. Fletcher who is a paraprofessional. Mrs. Ford likes to listen to today’s hits and country music. Her favorite radio station is 102.9. Mrs. Fletcher likes to listen to country or 90’s pop music. She likes to listen to music on sirius xm and if she could, she would like to learn to play piano or guitar in music class. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

Mrs. Parker's Pre K to 8 students made puzzles pieces about music for Music In Our Schools Month.

In honor of music in our school's month, our staff at Mount Pulaski Grade School shared how music is/was a part of their lives. Our staff members we would like to highlight today are Mrs. Collier and Ms. Kirk who are Pre K paraprofessionals. Mrs. Collier was in her high school choir and played clarinet in junior high. Mrs. Collier likes to listen to the radio station 88.9 and listens to country and alternative music. Ms. Kirk likes to listen to pop, country, or rap. She likes to listen to radio stations 102.9 and 104.5. Ms. Kirk met Hunter Hayes her Freshman year of high school and remembers how cute he was. If Ms. Kirk could learn anything in music class, she would learn how to play the flute. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument or listening to music, make music a part of your life today.

Happy birthday Dr Seuss! Mrs. Jones’s kindergarten class ate green eggs and ham here or there. We ate them ANYWHERE!

Our two staff members that we will highlight today are our 5th grade teachers Ms. Awe and Mrs. Smith. Ms. Awe’s favorite music is country and loves to listen to music on spotify. She likes to attend country music concerts around central Illinois in the summer. If Ms. Awe had the chance in music class, she would like to learn piano. A fun fact about Ms. Awe is that she played the clarinet in 5th and 6th grade. Mrs. Smith sang in her high school choir, played clarinet and keyboard in her high school band, and has sung in her church choir. Her favorite radio station is 93.3 and loves music. Mrs. Smith thinks it is important for students to learn about music and would like to learn about harmony in music class. Mrs. Smith won the John Philip Sousa Award her senior year in high school.
