Miss Awe's 5th grade class did a Day of Service Project with Mrs. Block . We would like to thank Lincoln IGA and Lincoln Walmart for their $100 contributions for the project. The kids put together approximately 40 "celebration kits" that included : 9x13 aluminum pans, cake mixes, icing, sprinkles, candles, and a can of lemon lime soda (to be used in place of egg and oil for the cake). The kits included directions on how to use the soda as a replacement in case individuals did not have eggs or oil in their homes. These kits were donated to Lincoln/Logan Food Pantry on 5/5/25. The kids have been learning about "service", generosity and kindness in our SEL group. They truly loved doing this project and their generosity and service was greatly appreciated by the Food Pantry staff. ~Tara Block, LCSW, TCSEA School Social Worker

Parker Swaar, an 8th grader from Illini Central, was hit in the head with a shot put Saturday afternoon at a track meet. He suffered a brain bleed and a fractured skull. The MPGS track team would like to show their support and raise money for the family to offset the cost of living while they are by his side. We have decided to have a Pie in the Face Fundraiser for Parker! Students can bring in money, starting Monday May 5 through Thursday May 8, to earn raffle tickets. Two winners will be drawn the morning of Friday May 8, to pie Mrs. Switzer and Mr. A in the face! $1 earns one ticket $5 earns one arms length $10 earns two arms length Let’s show Parker and his family some love!!

The Mt. Pulaski School District is keeping the Chatham community in our thoughts during this difficult time. We are standing with them and sending strength, support, and care to all those affected. We ask that MPGS students and staff wear red tomorrow (Thursday, May 1) to show our support for Chatham and to stand together in solidarity. We will also be doing Caps for a Cause tomorrow with the proceeds going to the Chatham Community. Please bring a dollar to wear a cap.
